Apart from filmmaking competitions and film screenings, there is also a whole host of other things you can do at SIMCinema . There are several exciting competitions and on-the spot contests to add to the fun. Here is a small brief of what's in store for the vibrant three days of the film festival:
Stylus: So you always thought a critic’s job was easy? What’s in it anyway, right? Watch a film, claw into loopholes and murder it even before anyone else watches it :) . Well, if you think that's what it is all about, here’s your chance to know what's reel (ooops, real). Stylus is a contest for review writers, where participants will battle it out as film critics with their arsenal of words. Participants would need to review the films screened at the festival. Winning entries would get published in the SIMCinema Times and also on the SIMC official blog. Apart from this, there are also prizes to be won.
Face Painting: If films and their grandeur posters are something that have always fascinated you, this competition is a chance to paint out your love for film posters and win some cool prizes, too. This is a face painting contest with a filmy twist. A team of two, comprising a model and an artist, must portray a film poster/logo through face painting. Registrations for the same would be done on the spot.
Lights,Camera … Films : Teams of two would battle out their FQ (Film Quotient) and test their knowledge on films. This film quiz will have questions ranging from Bollywood to Hollywood with a slight Dutch touch to it as well. Registrations would be on the spot and the quiz would be held on the 17th of December. Six teams would be shortlisted after a written test who would ultimately battle it out for the Oscar. Apart from prizes for the winners there are also goodies for the audience to be won .
10 Shot Story : A one-of-a-kind competition where you would be required to tell a story through 10 still photographs . If you think you have a story that you can tell in 10 photographs then this would be a great oppurtunity to do so . On the spot registrations for this one too .
Storyboarding competition : As the name suggests, this would test your storyboarding skills . Registrations would be done on the spot and prizes, certificates would be awarded to participants.
Looking forward to seeing you all fight it out...
