Movies, Masti, Madness

The Dutch angle to the film festival held at SIMC, Pune, came a full circle as the three-day film affair concluded on Sunday. Nurtured under the wing of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the festival brought the far-away land right down to Lavale.

The popular Dutch movies and documentaries showcased helped students come closer to the Dutch sensibilities in film-making.
Hosted on an unprecedented scale, SIMCinema was also more than just movie screenings. It brought in personalities from the film industry to our very own campus, and the one-to-one interactions turned out to be just what aspiring film-makers dream of.On the list of celebrity speakers were Taran Mansukhani, Raj Acharya and Ravi Jadhav.

But what really turned the SIMC campus into a mela was the overwhelming participation of students from across colleges in the array of competitions lined up over the three days.
Be it face painting, 24hr film-making, documentary film-making, quiz contests, film review writing, or the 10 shot story, the Lavale air took on a different flavour each day.
The pani puri and golas only added to the grand potpourri that was!

With the closing ceremony came the time to recognize and award talent, and it was not just winners who took it all. As the curtains came down, the team of SIMCinema took a bow for this spectacular celebration of cinema!!
